About the event
The Hall was opened in 1926 and has hosted a wide range of community activity over the years. Felton Art Group has been active for 26 years. Current members of the group have produced art work stimulated by the art and artists around in 1926, and work reflecting the culture and happenings of 1926, including local and national events of that year. Some of those events may surprise you!
A visit to the Coquet Room during the week will present you with paintings in the style of Monet, Art Deco and others alongside work commemorating 1926 events such as the General Strike, including the derailment of the Flying Scotsman in Cramlington, the first British Grand Prix, the births of Queen Elizabeth II, David Attenborough, Winnie the Pooh, Marilyn Munroe, the deaths of Rudolf Valentino, the invention of TV and traffic lights, and of course the building and opening of…
